This Monday (Dec. 8) night a 3½-foot long python showed up in a Main Street, Fairfield apartment. Residents told the Fairfield Police Department that the unwanted visitor was trying to eat their pet parakeets.

The snake did not belong to the apartment resident, Mary Bradstreet. The python was captured and put it into a pillowcase. The Maine Warden Service collected the snake Tuesday.

A next door neighbor, Joseph Varricchio, has come forward to say it's their family pet and would like it returned.
