Support Homeless Veterans at the ‘VA2K Walk & Roll,’ May 17, 2017 [INTERVIEW]
The 7th annual nationwide VA2K Walk & Roll event is coming up on Wednesday, May 17, at the Togus Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
The annual Walk & Roll, of approximately 1.2 miles, encourages people to get active and to support homeless Veterans with donated food and clothing items and promote employee health. There will be a barbecue (cash only), music, dunk tank and ice cream.
Recommended Donations (new items): Coffee maker, microwave, sheets, pillows, dishes, silverware, glasses, towels, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, toaster, toilet paper, paper towels, etc.
MIKA FIT Cross Training Center in Manchester took on the challenge to raise 100 items and delivered just over 1400 items to the event! They are doing it again this year and hope to double that amount. Go to their facebook page for info and find out how you can help!
Rebecca Pushard from MIKA and and Peter Cayouette from the HUD Veteran Affairs Supportive Housing program joined us on the Moose Morning Show with more info in the above interview!
