There are only a few days left until New Years Eve. What are your plans? I know mine. It is the one night a year I can get away with acting like a 21 year old within reason. In past years we’ve enjoyed a small party with our neighbors. The furthest anyone had to go after is next door. This year it's going to be the same party except it’s at our house, which is two miles from our old place. This time our old neighbors and friends are sleeping over just to be safe and responsible.

All of us bring something for food. Stuffed mushrooms, shrimp ring, meatballs and Lynn’s taco dip are a few of the foods that are usually on the table.

We often play games like Apples to Apples, Trivial Pursuit or card games. After, we end up watching 'Dick Clark’s New Years Rockin’ Eve.' It will probably will be the same Monday night except there won’t be Dick Clark. I'm guessing Ryan Seacrest will fill the duty as he has the past few years.

The ball drops at midnight and then out comes the gifts for my wife as it is her birthday. Yes, I married a New Year's baby. I won’t say what year she was born because, well that would just be rude, right?

Around 12:30 am, after a short birthday celebration, in the past our friends left to either go upstairs to their apartment or next door. As I mentioned above, they’re staying if they’re drinking.

Enjoy your New Years Eve. If you go out, have a safe way to get home or stay put.
