Last night on my way home from work I was caught between hitting the drive thru and ordering something easy to eat off the dollar menu or stopping by the grocery store and getting something frozen and microwaveable to eat when I got to the house. I chose the grocery store.

Normally when I go to the frozen food section I choose Hot or Lean Pockets, but something caught my eye, those small thin crust frozen pizzas, you know, the ones that go for under a buck. Once I was in the mood for those cheap pizzas, I looked for a brand I used to get for about 79 cents back when I was living on my own, Mr. P’s. Sadly the grocery store couldn’t give me the nostalgia I wanted so I went with the store brand, in this case Hannaford.

Do you remember your foods choices in college or when you first started on your own? The classic examples would be Mac & Cheese (Kraft Dinner) or ramen noodles, but are there others? Another for me were Buddig cold cuts. There were like four slices of ham in a pouch for 59 or 69 cents. I used to eat spaghetti a lot, however, instead of marinara sauce; I’d throw on barbeque sauce if that was all I had.

I ate a lot hot dogs and chicken nuggets back then as well. How about you?
