I feel like I’m falling apart and I’m only 41. Now, I'm on cholesterol medication? Okay, this part is mostly or at least partly my doing. Over the past couple of years I’ve been getting lab-work done every three months mostly so my primary care professional can find the correct dose of Levothyroxine, a medication to manage thyroid.

Since my first set of labs, the dose went from 25 micrograms (mcg) to 50 mcg to 100 mcg and with the results of the latest test, I’m now up to 125 mcg of Levothyroxine. Everything is fine except for the thyroid and now, cholesterol, which is 221 for a total and the bad cholesterol is 150. It’s been bad since my hypothyroidism was found, but my intention was always to get more active to get the cholesterol numbers down.

Here is where it comes to partly my doing. To get bad cholesterol numbers down you have to exercise and eat healthy and possibly get different parents.

Since there hasn’t been any real improvement, I’m now on a form of Statin, a cholesterol medication. I decided that I'd try it out and see how things went for the next set of blood-work.

That was today.

Tomorrow, I have my consultation for my hernia repair. It was supposed to be with one surgeon, but then was referred to another one and hence, the appointment was moved from last Thursday to tomorrow. This all following an ER visit from Saturday, January 4, 2014 where I was initially referred.

The hernia has gotten slightly more annoying, not to the point of being painful but it’s slightly bigger. We’ll see what the plan is tomorrow. As much as getting put under for surgery stresses me out, at least it will make for interesting posts.
