Wilton Home to One of the ‘Most Dangerous Intersections in the Country’

According to Time magazine, the intersection at Route 2 and Allen Street in Wilton is one of the ten most dangerous intersections in the country.

The Maine Department of Transportation told WLBZ that Time got the streets wrong. "They say it's actually the intersection of Route 2 and Route 156 that has caused many accidents over the years."

In the spring, work to fix the intersection will include raised islands and a truck lane to allow vehicles to get up to speed.
