It was quite amazing to see many of the Winthrop High School students raising money for cancer research in their first 'Rambler Relay For Life'.

I was at the school providing music with the Moose Caboose as the all night fund raiser got underway at 7 p.m. on Friday June 12. In the two hours entertaining the group one student walked 5.5 miles!! Sixty-five people made up of 55 students and 10 adults were part of the event. In total, 266 miles were logged.

Amy St. John, Staff Partner for the 'Relay For Life' was on hand for the event which brought in $1,793.00. All of the money raised will go into the funds raised in the 'Greater Augusta Relay For Life' which will be held this coming Saturday June 20, 2015 from noon to midnight at the Windsor Fairgrounds.

The incredible feat was organized by the Winthrop High School Latin Club headed by the club teacher Meg Cook. The students and teachers should feel proud of their efforts including Vincent Scott, Publicity Chair of the Latin Club.

Winthrop High School looks forward you joining them in the 2016 'Rambler Relay For Life'.
