Courtney Yeager, Director of Resource Development and Marketing of the United Way of Kennebec Valley, joined us to talk about Maine's statewide 2-1-1. It's a fantastic 24-hour health and human services resource hotline.

February is '2-1-1 Awareness Month.' 2-1-1 is a free, confidential service that connects people all over Maine to needed resources in their area. You can find local services that can help you stay healthy, safe, and independent. This includes everything from heating assistance, mental health resources, food pantries, housing, veterans' assistance, and more.

You can also text, your zip code to 898-211, or go to 211maine.org.

The services are available with trained staff, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All contacts and referrals are free and confidential.
