350 Grams of Heroin, Fentanyl, Meth Found in Central Maine Motel Room, Suspect Arrested
According to WGME 13, a man has been arrested after officials found hundreds of grams of illicit drugs in a Central Maine hotel room.
WGME reports that on Monday they searched a hotel room in Lewiston at The Light House Inn which is on Lisbon Street in Lewiston.
During their search, officers discovered more than 350 grams of heroin, fentanyl and meth. In addition to the drugs, police also found a loaded handgun, several prescription drugs, thousands in cash and items that investigators say are evidence of processing and packaging drugs for resale.
WGME reports that following the search and seizure, police then arrested suspected drug trafficker, Marcel Seely, and charged him with trafficking in scheduled drugs.
This is a developing situation and we will continue to update this story as more information becomes available regarding any additional charges and updates on upcoming court appearances.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all of the investigating officers for helping to keep drugs off of our Maine streets. It is often a thankless job and we are very appreciative of the job that our men and women in law enforcement are out doing day in and day out to help protect and keep our communities as safe as possible here in the Pine Tree State.
As always, all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
