
40 New Condos Greenlit in Waterville, Maine, Neighbors Worry
Get this, it was recently released that the city of Waterville will be receiving 40 new condos, according to Central Maine.
The approval is for two new housing developments which adds up to 40 units.
This is huge for the city and will include two 21 story condos on Evergreen Drive and 28 apartments on Washington Street, as per the article! Wow!

According to the article, Mammie’s Dreams LLC is building the 12 condominiums and the 28 apartments will be a part of the 15 Washington LLC Complex.
The apartments will be available for you to rent and the condos will be available to buy!
This is obviously going to bring more housing to the city but some locals have been a little concerned about it all.
Why are Waterville Citizens Concerned?
The folks on Evergreen Drive are worried about the increases traffic, drainage problems, and possible excavation on the land where the condos will be put,

According to the article, Mammie’s Dreams LLC is building the 12 condominiums and the 28 apartments will be a part of the 15 Washington LLC Complex.
The apartments will be available for you to rent and the condos will be available to buy!
This is obviously going to bring more housing to the city but some locals have been a little concerned about it all.
The plans, which the board will consider under the city’s site plan review ordinance, call for two buildings each with six 1,676-square-foot connected condos on less than an acre that is part of a 4.79-acre lot sloping east toward Evergreen Drive.
Why are Waterville Citizens Concerned?
The folks on Evergreen Drive are worried about the increases traffic, drainage problems, and possible excavation on the land where the condos will be put, according to the article.
“When it rains, water just sheets down over the hill into the ditch and road,”
The excavation requires taking out about 2,000 truckloads of rocks and dirt.
They are also worried about the narrow road and how if there is an emergency it could block personal from getting through.
The planning board spoke about all of this with some agreeing with the residents about the concerns with the width of the road.
The same resident also remarked,
“It’s not a small thing, and it’s right in our front yard,”

But, the city’s fire officials said the length of the road does meet regulations.
And at the end of the day they voted 4-1 to approve the project. They however added a few conditions to address the drainage concerns, as per the article.
The new condos and apartments are hopefully going to bring more living for locals in Waterville!
