With nearly all of Maine's restaurants, bars, bowling alleys, theaters, and other entertainment venues closed in order to stop the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, people are looking for something to do.

Something I've noticed over the last few days is that more people taking advantage of our Central Maine parks and trails.  And, they're doing it way earlier in the spring than is normal.

Taking a walk allows a family to get fresh air and exercise, while still maintaining distance.

Some great walks in Central Maine include:

-The Kennebec River Rail Trail

- Augusta's Mill Park

- Vaughan Woods / Hobbit Land (Hallowell)

- Gardiner Waterfront Park

- Waterville's Head Of Falls River Walk
