As we cruise through the second week of December, there is no doubt that we are in the middle of the Christmas season.  It seems like there are holiday events every other day, including parades, festivals, craft fairs, Christmas concerts, story hours, movie nights, and chances to meet Santa.

Most of these events are put on by the community-minded people in our Maine towns and cities.  Take the team at the City of Augusta, for example.

Every year, the City of Augusta Parks & Recreation Department has a calendar filled with family-friendly events.  This year is no different.  The events, which got kicked off on Small Business Saturday with the tree lighting and fireworks, continue with visits with Santa, phone calls with Santa, a family movie night, and the Holiday Hoopla.

The Holiday Hoopla Kids Fair will take place at the Buker Community Center from 1-4pm on Sunday, December 10.

The event will include bounce houses, crafts, snacks, and a chance to hang out with Santa Claus.

If you want more information about any of the upcoming City of Augusta Parks & Recreation events, you should follow them on Facebook.
