As so it begins. Real Maine, along with Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation, and Forestry, is bringing us the joy of farm life at this year's Open Farm Day in Maine!

As per WABI, over 100 Maine farms will welcome visitors in this year's event. This is so amazing, because agriculture in Maine is very important to learn about.

Each of these farms will be offering a unique, behind-the-scenes look into what they do, while also giving you and your family fun activities to last a lifetime!

When is Open Farm Day in Maine?

Open Farm Day is on Saturday, July 28! You can check the list of participating farms here.

Loud Dog Farm in Orrington is one of the farms participating in this year's event, and their goal is to help educate folks in supporting the smaller farms of Maine. As per the article, they are going to have goat cuddling, and will open at 10:30am.

The owner, Patricia Mey, said the following:

We’ll be doing baby goat cuddling. We’ll also have a little rat dog hunting demonstration going on. All breeds will have “Meet the Breeds” so you can meet them up close or view them from your own distance. Everybody has their own taste around here.

Another gorgeous farm called Smiling Hill Farm is extremely popular, and will be participating this year as well! This Westbrook farm has been around since the 1700s and makes quality dairy products, as per the site.

Be sure to visit one or more farms this year, and support our incredible farmers who have given us so much over the years in our beautiful state of Maine.
