Belfast Rallies Around Hit & Run Victim Who Was Left For Dead
Even though the pandemic has been awful, it has brought out the best in some people. I love seeing how, over the last year, people have really come together to help each other out.
The following story proves that...
According to WGME, in February of 2021, Jason Blake was walking along Oak Hill Road in Swanville when he was hit by a car. The driver left the scene, leaving Blake for dead. Fortunately, he was found in time and was taken by LifeFlight helicopter to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
Blake is confident that he will make a complete recovery and will be walking before too long. However, he and his family need help paying for his medical bills.
An employee of Delvino’s Grill & Pasta House in Belfast, the business has stepped up to organize several fundraisers to help Blake. For example, there will a bake sale at Delvino’s from 9-11 AM on Saturday (April 3rd). There will also be a benefit dinner at Delvino’s from 4-8 PM on Wednesday (April 7th)
If you can't make it to the fundraising events, you can sill help by making a donation through his GoFundMe
Police still have not located the driver who hit Blake. The accident happened on February 25th. If you have any information that could help, please reach out to Maine State Police Trooper Luke Martin at 207.624.7076.
