Belgrade’s Day’s Store to Close for Winter for The First Time in Forty Years
it has been 40 years since the iconic Belgrade store has 'closed for the season'. The store, originally opened in 1958, used to close every year during the winter season. That is until they got their liquor license in the '70s.
Owner, Diane Oliver, said that she and her husband, Kerry, are hoping to use the downtime to redo some floors in the store and get some painting done, too. While scrolling through their Facebook page, you will certainly see lots of support and congratulations on their decision to take a little, much deserved downtime. Even some people joking about how they will have to go all winter long without their favorite menu items like pizza and bagels.
However, it's still not too late to get into Day's and get anything you may need for the holidays, whether it be a bottle of your favorite spirit, a knickknack out of the gift shop or a slice of fresh pizza. The store will be closing for the season on Saturday, December 21st, and until then, will be open 7 days a week from 7-7.
