In a lot of ways I am not a graceful person.  Actually, when it comes to shaving, I am kind of like a drunken ninja - hacking away at my face with a razor.  A lot of times, I am doing it as fast as possible before I am completely awake.

This frequently leads to me cutting myself.  Sometimes, these cuts are BAD!

Even worse, it always happens when I am in a hurry to get out the doors and really can't wait till the bleeding stops.

I now have the solution.  A styptic pencil!

If you are younger, you are probably asking what the heck a styptic pencil is...

According to Wikipedia, a styptic (also spelled "stiptic") is an antihemorrhagic that works by causing the tissues to contract.  This contracting of the tissues causes the wound to seal.  The active ingredient is Anhydrous aluminium sulfate, which acts a vasoconstrictor.

Ironically, for me at least, is the fact that back in the days before safety razors a styptic pencil used to be part of almost every shaving kit.  Maybe they need to go back to being that common?  Just a thought.

On top of being incredibly useful, they are also super cheap.  You can get one for about $5.

So, what is the best thing you have bought for less than $10?  Tell us about it by messaging us through our app or on Facebook.
