New England's baseball team are nearing a deal to which could take them out of the United States next season, and they'd be taking an arch rival on the flight.

According to the Boston Globe, the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees are in negotiations for a two game series to be played in London. The series would take place at Olympic Stadium June 29th and 30th 2019, would be the first of it's kind. Major League Baseball has played games in markets such as Mexico, Japan, and Puerto Rico, but not yet tapped the European market.

The Globe quoted Red Sox president and CEO Sam Kennedy “We would love to participate but it’s a decision made by MLB and the MLBPA.” Bloomberg reported that the Red Sox could have the option of being the home team, and would be willing to sacrifice a few home games.

The Red Sox as the home team would make sense in England. They have a huge fan base, plus the geographical tie. Not to mention, potentially giving up home games.
