It's often a tireless and thankless job. The men and women of Maine law enforcement agencies who work around the clock trying to keep dangerous and illicit drugs off our streets and our of our state.

For the past two months, agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (MDEA), in cooperation with the Oakland Police Department, have been investigating suspected drug trafficking activity linked to a residence on Lakeview Drive.

On June 23, 2025, MDEA agents, assisted by officers from the Oakland and Waterville Police Departments, including two Waterville K-9 units, executed a search warrant at 65 Lakeview Drive. During the operation, Brandon Seegars attempted to flee the scene by jumping out of a window but was apprehended with assistance from a Waterville K-9 team.

After securing the residence, investigators conducted a search and seized the following:

  • 650 grams of Cocaine HCL

  • 13.2 grams of Cocaine Base

  • 20.9 grams of Fentanyl

  • $3,674 in suspected drug proceeds

Seegars was arrested and charged with two counts of Aggravated Trafficking of Schedule W Drugs, classified as Class A felonies.

The estimated street value of the seized substances is as follows:

  • 650 grams of Cocaine HCL: $65,000

  • 13.2 grams of Cocaine Base: $1,350

  • 20.9 grams of Fentanyl: $2,600

Bail was set at $75,000 for Seegars. He is also currently on federal probation in New Jersey for a previous conviction under the Hobbs Act for armed bank robbery.

Seegars is being held at the Kennebec County Jail pending an initial court appearance. The investigation remains ongoing, and further arrests may follow.
