This comes as sad news to many runners out there. Fortunately for me, I only run when I'm being chased, which isn't frequently, because who'd chase me?

In all seriousness, the Beach to Beacon 10K which was originally planned for August 1st, will not happen again until August of 2021.

Organizers say that registrants will automatically receive their $55 registration fee refund. Additionally, this year's beneficiary, JMG, will still be the beneficiary for the 2021 race.

According to the TD Beach to Beacon 10K president, David Backer,

“COVID-19 and its impact on our state, the nation, and the world is unprecedented and after significant review and in partnership with our medical partners we have made this very difficult decision. We know this will be disappointing for those of us who look forward to the race each year but the health and safety of our runners, volunteers, spectators, staff and community remains paramount,” .

As we continue to see more and more of Maine's many outdoor annual events cancelled, we will keep our audience updated with their re-planning and make-good efforts.
