Cony High School Threat
The Augusta Police Department yesterday (Oct. 17) received an anonymous tip about a possible threat of violence involving a firearm and Cony High School. The tip came from their “Tip411” app service.
According to their press release:
There did not appear to be any direct threats, however due to the nature of this incident, Officers immediately identified the Augusta juvenile, and embarked in an extensive investigation into the alleged threats. Officer(s) are working in conjunction with the school, parent and the student involved, all of whom are working very cooperatively with Police.
The Augusta Police Department says there are officers working in and around the schools to allow parents, students, staff and visitors an opportunity to ask any questions and to help minimize any concerns that they may have.
No school operations or classes at any Augusta Schools were disrupted nor were there be any changes to schedules as a result of the investigation.
