Farmington Firefighters To Take Part In Rose Bowl Parade
According to WCSH 6, two firefighters from the Farmington Fire Department will ring in the new year in Pasadena, California.
Thanks to the Maine Odd Fellows and Rebekah's organization, firefighters Patty Cormier and Steve Bunker will be making the trip to California for the Rose Bowl Parade. One of the will be riding on a float in the parade.
With the death of Farmington FD Captain Michael Bell in the September 16th explosion of the LEAP building, this has been a difficult year for the department.
When Maine Odd Fellows member Michele Trynor found out the theme of the organization's Rose Bowl Parade float was "First Responders Bring Hope", she felt including one or more members of the department in the parade would be a great way to remind them that they are not alone in their pain and that they are appreciated.
The parade will get kicked off at 11 AM (Eastern) on New Years' Day and it will be televised on ESPN. The National Odd Fellows float is 64th in line.
