This is wonderful news. Bowdoin College in Brunswick announced today (Dec. 22) that it will “provide full financial aid” to Justin Ramos. Justin, son of officer Rafael Ramos, is currently a sophomore at Bowdoin.

Saturday (Dec. 20), New York Police Department officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu were gunned down at close range in their patrol car in Brooklyn.

Bowdoin president Barry Mills said, “We are a very close college community, and our hearts go out to our student Justin Ramos and to his entire family.” Sunday (Dec. 21) the New York Yankees offered to pay for the education of Ramos’ two sons. Mills said, "We are grateful for the Yankee Silver Shield Foundation’s offer to assist, but Bowdoin has it covered."
