Heavy Rains Bring Flood Warnings To Central Maine
Heavy rains have moved into Central Maine and the National Weather Service has issued flood watches.
The National Weather Service in Gray has issued an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for locations including: locations that will experience flooding include...
Lewiston, Augusta, Waterville, Fairfield, Gardiner, Oakland,
Skowhegan, Pittsfield, Madison, China, Litchfield, Clinton,
Belgrade, Farmingdale, Manchester, Hallowell, Norridgewock,
Winthrop, Lisbon and Greene. The warnings last until 6:15 p.m. on July 26.
According to the Weather Service, residents should take the following precautions:
- Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles. - Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
