For decades, a surefire sign that spring was upon us was the reopening of our favorite dairy bars.  Of course, this has changed a little bit over the last few years.  We are seeing more of our favorite ice cream places either open earlier in the season (and stay open later in the season) or we see them staying open year round.

This is the case for at least a few of our Central Maine Dairy Queen locations.  Even though the old Civic Center Drive Augusta storefront location is gone, the Bangor Street Augusta ice cream stand is now open 12 months out of the year!  Yes, you can get a Blizzard whenever you want!

And, if you are a fan of those iconic DQ ice cream cones, ya' know, the ones with the lil curl at the top, you'll be able to get one for free in just a few days.

According to The Hill, DQ is once again doing their free cone day in celebration of the start of spring.

During this promotion, which they have done since 2014, everyone who stops by a participating Dairy Queen location on Monday, March 20th, 2023, will get a free small vanilla ice cream cone!  Of course, the deal is only good while supplies last, so don't wait till just before closing to take advantage of it.

It should not come as a surprise that this deal probably will not be available for those getting their treats delivered.  Besides, who in their right mind expects the Door Dash man or woman to deliver an ice cream cone?  It'd be ice cream soup by the time it got their!
