How Did Maine Do in this Ranking Of How States are Responding to CV-19
Wallet-Hub, which is always doing these interesting looks at how the states stack up on different issues, did one for how the states are doing the coronavirus. Wallet-Hub looked at 13 different metrics to come up with its overall numbers for the states with the biggest health improvements. Topping this list was Hawaii, West Virginia, Alaska….number four on the list was Maine, followed by Vermont to round out the top five. New Hampshire was 30th on the list, Massachusetts was 32, Connecticut was 17, Rhode Island was 41, New York hit number 8 on the list and finally I will include Florida since so many people do come to Maine from Florida was 43.
You can see the entire list of the States with the Biggest Health Improvements during COVID-19.
Some of the number for Maine included:
-5th – Death Rate This Week
-9th – Positive COVID-19 Testing Rate This Week
-12th – COVID-19 Current Estimated Transmission Number
-5th – COVID-19 Hospitalization Rate This Week
When it comes to this virus I have to admit things are SO confusing to me. It seems like we are doing well and I would like to see that continue, but the impact on lives and economy…it is a lot to balance. I can tell you there are the recommendations that come from the Maine CDC website:
-Wear cloth face coverings in public settings where physical distancing is hard to maintain
-Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
-Avoid close contact with people who are sick
-Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
-Stay home as much as possible
