This Iconic Maine Diner Has One of the Best Burgers in America
A burger from one of the most famous diners in our Pine Tree State was recently named one of the best in America!
While ‘Vacationland’ is more famous for its seafood and wild blueberries, we certainly do have a big love for burgers, too.
But how does one determine what makes a burger ‘good,’ let alone the best in an entire state?
Reader’s Digest compiled a list of the best burgers in each state by considering a variety of unique spots, from gas stations to traditional restaurants. They focused on places that are highly loved by burger enthusiasts and recognized by critics or competitions. Each location on the list offers its own spin on the classic burger, making them all worth a visit.
With that in mind, which diner in Maine offers one of the best burgers in the country, and what burger is it?
According to Reader’s Digest and their report on ‘The Best Burger in Every State,’ Maine’s oldest diner, Palace Diner in Biddeford, serves the best burger in Maine. The burger is their Palais Royale, and Reader’s Digest had this to say about their choice:
Housed in a 1920s rail car, the Palace Diner in Biddeford (just outside Portland) serves up breakfast and lunch until 2 p.m. If you’re able to score a spot at one of the 15 counter seats, order the Palais Royale, a double version of the classic cheeseburger that features two smashed patties, cheddar cheese, iceberg lettuce, pickles, and the diner’s special sauce, piled onto a sesame seed bun and served with fries. Can’t grab a seat in the railway car? Place an order online to enjoy from anywhere.
What do you think about the Palais Royale from Palace Diner being named ‘The Best Burger in Every State?’ We’d love to hear from you! Feel free to join the conversation by messaging us on the app.
