In a recent press release, President Trump seemed to suggest it would be possible to fight the coronavirus by injecting people with  Lysol and other disinfectants

To be fair, he NEVER said you should drink or ingest disinfectant.  He simply speculated that there could be a way to inject a disinfectant (not a common household cleaner) into a person to kill the virus.

Now, according to WCSH, Lysol has come forward to let the users of their products know that they should not inject or ingest Lysol in an effort to fight the coronavirus.

A statement on their website reads, in part:

As a global leader in health and hygiene products, we must be clear that under no circumstance should our disinfectant products be administered into the human body (through injection, ingestion or any other route).  As with all products, our disinfectant and hygiene products should only be used as intended and in line with usage guidelines. Please read the label and safety information.

Regardless, please do all you can to remain safe.
