The Maine State Treasurer's office could be holding on to money or property that belongs to you and they are looking to make sure you get it.

According to the State Treasurer's website, unclaimed property could be bank accounts, uncashed checks, unpaid wages, stocks and dividends, safe deposit box contents and refunds. It does not include real estate, animals or vehicles. The property is held by the treasurer's office free of charge and there is no charge to claim property that is yours.

To see if you have any unclaimed property, go here and enter your information to see if you are on the list.
