According to WABI TV 5, a Chesterville man was riding his bicycle west on the Farmington Falls Road when he was struck by a pickup truck.

Reports indicate that 55-year-old Christopher Krol of Chesterville was struck just before 4PM Saturday by 50-year-old Richard Dow of Wilton. First responders transported to Franklin Memorial Hospital initially. After arriving there he was then taken to Maine Medical Center where he was pronounced dead Sunday morning.

Police say that Krol was in fact wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Witnesses that saw the accident say that Krol made a sudden turn on his bicycle directly into the path of Dow's truck creating an unavoidable situation for the driver of the truck.
