I am a four, what are you? It is a new enneagram list that has been going around on social media.

So much time on line and a need for distractions…I found this. A new enneagram list. OHHH...AHHH…another one of these? Please. So of course I had to check it out.  First of all an enneagram, in this usage, is defined by Merriam-Webster website as “a system of classifying personality types that is based on a nine-pointed starlike figure inscribed within a circle in which each of the nine points represents a personality type and its psychological motivations (such as the need to be right or helpful) influencing a person's emotions, attitudes, and behavior.”

All righty then, so let’s check out the list from the Los Angeles Time.  It runs down the nine types and then it will point out how there are variations based on if you are having a good day or a bad day. I love this stuff.  I have spent my entire life trying to figure me out. Of course a website/magazine/newspaper/whatever will sort that all in the blink of an eye. I have read the list a few times and the problem is I see myself in all of them. But if I HAD to pick one it would be four. Here is what the Los Angeles Times had to say about fours “are idealistic and intense people who crave authenticity. When stressed, they often resemble an unhealthy Two, desperate for reassurance, and in times of growth they look more like a healthy One, wise and able to execute their creative ideas.”

Ya…I think that sums it up.

What are you?
