This Saturday Congress Street in Portland, Maine will be packed with the most beautiful people. Why? Portland’s pulling out all the colors of the rainbow and celebrating pride with the annual Portland Pride Parade!

In fact, did you know that it’s actually one of the countries top-rated LGBTQ+ celebrations? Yes!

The parade starts at 1:30pm from Monument Square, with more then 100 groups marching on Congress Street before arriving at Deering Oaks Park for a huge celebration and festival that will go straight into the night, according to WGME.  

Why Portland, Maine’s Pride Parade is More Than Just a Celebration

The theme this year, according to Pride Portland is, “Maine Transcends” which will shed light on strength, resilience of community, especially in support of the trans community and non-binary people.

Due to the current national climate surround rights in general this year’s Pride is vital and carries an extra dose of importance.

Safety is top priority and the organizers have worked closely with Portland police and officials to ensure everyone is secure.

Allies and LGBTQ community members from all over the state of Maine and beyond are planning their outfits, coordinating where to meet friends and getting ready to make this year’s Pride unforgettable.

This one will be for the history books babes.
