Spring 2020 the Earliest in 124 Years
Today…Thursday, March 19, 2020, at 11:50 p.m. EDT…it…is…SPRING 2020. Our spring is coming earlier than normal. According to the Farmers’ Almanac (the orange and green one from Lewiston, ME) this is the earliest the vernal equinox has occurred in all time zones in 124 years. Traditionally, we celebrate the first day of spring on March 20th or 21st, but this year it’s even earlier—something that hasn’t happened since 1896.
The Farmers’ Almanac also said there are a number of reasons that seasonal dates vary from year to year. Check out this story from Farmers’ Almanac for all the details. It is all earth science stuff.
So on March 19 at 11:50pm I don't care if I am up to knees in snow...it will be SPRING!
