My vacation is over and now it's back to work. Some of the highlights over the past week, or lowlights as much of this time off consisted of work, including shoveling the roof, taking care of the driveway, once or twice and replacing a floodlight on the outside wall of the house. My vacation wasn't all work. I had fun too.

This is so absurd it'll make you laugh...but it is absolutely true. This little English boy didn't show up at another kid's birthday party and was fined by the other kids mother. She's even threatened to take the dad to small claims court if he doesn't pay up!

It's that surreal week between Christmas and New Years where life isn't normal. The kids are home from school, yet work continues but in many places at a slower pace as many take the week off. This week is sort of like a seasonal hangover.

I made a call to my daughter Michelle this morning. We spoke, almost to the minute, on the day she was born 24 years earlier.

Today is Paula Abdul’s birthday! I was sort of surprised at how old she is. I figured she might be in her mid 40s, but no, she’s 52 today!

The Moose is on the Loose, broadcasting Friday, June 13th, at the 100th anniversary of the Kennebec Valley YMCA. It's a huge birthday and barbecue celebration and it's all FREE...rain or shine!

It's been a long 10 days recovering from surgery by just sitting around the house and watching TV. At least that's what I did for the most part over vacation especially at the start. Now it is time to go back to work.
