A couple of days ago I got a call from Maine Medical Center (MMC) reminding of a doctor's appointment for my daughter, Vikki. I told them on the call I would be there. I get there and overlooked an ultrasound that was part of the visit, which was slated in just before the appointment. Oops.
I don't care for doctors visits that involve purple latex gloves. That said, however, I understand the importance of the particular test I endure once a year during my physical.
Well, as much as I'd like to say it's a pleasure not having unsightly skin tags lurking around on my neck anymore, I have to tell you, they were a part of me and tonight, when they'd normally be safe and sound right with me, they're in some pile of medical waste at my doctors office.
On Monday, I was finishing things up at the Moose so I could meet up with my wife and get ready for my mother-in-law's afternoon wake. She had passed away the week before and everyone felt suddenly lost without "Ma" being there, even though her passing was no surprise. As I was doing my "finishing up" work, I got a call from my sister, Bonnie....
