It was a nice night (Sept. 5) at Fenway Park all around. The evening wrapped up with an extra inning win for the Boston Red Sox, but the highlight wasn't the walk-off victory, it was a simple kind gesture from one young boy to a young girl in the stands.
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are going to play at the legendary Fenway Park this summer. The Rock 'n Roll Hall of Famer, Petty, will be in Boston Aug. 30 at America’s oldest major league ballpark. Special guest, Steve Winwood, will also perform.
Are there any bigger rivalries than the Red Sox and Yankees? Maybe but for the sake of this story there aren’t. The Yankees come to Fenway with Jacoby Ellsbury for the first time tonight. It will be very interesting to see how Ellsbury is received by the Fenway faithful. Will he get “boos” for going to New York or will fans remember him for the World Series wins in 2007 and 2013 and cheer?

Here is my ‘Throwback Thursday’ story for today. This one goes back to almost this day in 2010. We as a family in February or March bought Red Sox tickets for a game on April 20, 2010. The seats were okay but it was more about bringing my boys to see Boston play at Fenway Park. To enjoy the carnival atmosphere, the smell of the food and those now haunting words "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and
LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Boston has created this time-lapse video of Fenway Park built out of LEGO® bricks. The model will now be on permanent display inside MINILAND, a Boston landscape made entirely out of LEGO® bricks. LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Boston opens May 23.

Well, I hope you got your Billy Joel tickets today! According to the twitter account of Sam Kennedy, Executive Vice President/Business Affairs for the Boston Red Sox, the show sold out in 5 minutes.

The Red Sox are on the verge of their 8th world title. Boston is up three games to two in the 2013 World Series and Game 6 is tomorrow night at Fenway Park. The Red Sox haven’t won the title game in Boston since 1918. Back in 2004 they won it at Busch Stadium and in 2007 the Sox won the trophy in Denver.
How about a bit of Fenway Park trivia? Did you know the “Green Monster” wasn’t always green? Do you know why there is one lone red seat in a sea of green? I have the answers to these questions and more.
As I get older I start to see how other people and places get younger. For instance my dentist is probably at least five years younger than I am. I see it with teachers as well. And other parents, most of the other parents at my son’s elementary school are younger.
Now a co-worker, Mike, and I were chatting and going through the baseball stadiums, and found only five that are older than I am.

It’s "Truck Day!" It’s the unofficial beginning of the Red Sox baseball season. It’s the day the truck full of the player’s equipment leaves Fenway for Fort Myers. The 18-wheeler travels almost 1,500 miles to bring the gloves, bats and every thing else they’ll need for spring training.
