Thank you so much for all the requests and pledges for Special Olympics Maine, during our annual Requestathon! What a day.... $6460 was pledged to help the athletes.

There are so many people to thank, starting with everybody who took the time to call, email and stop by to join us. We couldn't do it without Dolores Steverman-Daoust from the Augusta P.D. and Charle Clark from the Winthrop P.D. Also, Winthrop police chief Joe Young stopped by and pitched in, as did Augusta police Lt., Kevin Lully.

Jessica from Walgreens kicked things off with a huge $500.00 donation, quickly matched by Kelly and the Gardiner Federal Credit Union. Kelly's challenge to other credit unions was huge! Melissa from PFBF CPA'a stopped by with a $100.00 check, as well.

A huge tip of the Moose antlers to Jean Gallant and the staff of Employment Specialists of Maine. Jean donated $1000, and pledged to match any of her employee's donations. Those, were for over a thousand dollars!

If you get a chance, go to Orono this weekend and cheer on the Special Olympians... and THANK YOU!!
