According to News Center Maine, a tornado has touched down on Cape Cod.

The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts just after noon on Tuesday (July 23).  A 90 MPH wind was recorded in Hyannis at about 12:15 PM.

There had been an NWS Tornado Warning in effect until just before 1 PM.  The warning had been issued following reports of water spouts.

Even though they are rare, we do occasionally get tornadoes in New England.  I believe the last time it happened was the Summer of 2017.  That tornado tour through Western Maine (the Bridgton area).  This video does a good job explaining the conditions that lead to coastal New England tornadoes:
