Did we ever get our annual thaw in January? I don't think we did. However worry not, because a mid-week February thaw is on its way to Maine.
According to The National Weather Service, a dope little warm front (they didn't say 'dope little', I added that) is going to move into the region midweek and temperatures will spike wicked hard.
Lately the mercury has been bouncing all over the place, but it should come to rest above 50 for most Mainers on Thursday. Starting the week off with single digits at night and teens during the day, a little reprieve from the bitter cold will certainly be welcome.
And, tell me I'm wrong, but after all this bitter cold, low 50s will feel like an 85 degree July day, won't it? Let's be super-clear here, the warmth won't last, and it won't be all sunshine and daffodils.
We're expecting clouds and showers with our order of 50s on Thursday, followed by rain and upper 40s on Friday before the temps fall back off for the weekend. Oh well, we'll take a bit of warmth while we can get it. After all, Spring is just around the corner, right? I mean 'mud season'.
