Welcome to The World Dawson Jeffrey James!
My wife Keri and I, along with our sons Gavin and Evan, are excited to announce our newest arrival, Dawson Jeffrey James.
Dawson made his appearance on Tuesday morning, June, 30th, at Maine General in Augusta via scheduled C section. This was a planned C section because of his estimated size. And, it's a good thing we planned it this way because he was born at a whopping 9 pound 13 ounces and 22.5 inches long.
Both Keri and the baby are doing absolutely wonderful and it has been an amazing week getting to know our new child. Gavin and Evan are both beside themselves with joy and are loving every second they get to spend with and hold Dawson.
For those of you who don't know, Dawson's middle name (Jeffrey) is after Keri's late uncle Jeff Cote who passed away in 2015. Jeff was a wicked kick-ass dude, a veteran of the United States Navy and the type of guy that would do anything for you. Despite the fact he would leave the annual family Christmas gathering without saying "bye", Jeff had a solid heart of gold and we are so happy that Dawson will carry his name through his life.
Additionally, I would be remiss if I didn't give the biggest shout out ever to the amazing staff at Maine General Medical Center. This is the second C Section that Dr. Melissa Collard has done for us. Her calm, comforting tone and mother-like demeanor made Keri so comfortable and relaxed, more-so than I ever could have.
The nurses... oh the nurses! Thank you to each and every one of you whose names probably escape me- but thank you to Ashley, Stephanie, Anne, Johnna, Christina, Nichole and all the other ones I'm probably forgetting. Thank you for tending to our needs every time we pushed the call button, and all the times in between.
If you didn't think we were crazy yet, we are leaving for Dawson's very first camping trip at Lake Pemaquid this weekend. Hey, you gotta get them started young, ya know!
