What You Need to Know to Get Into Acadia National Park in Maine for Free

Acadia National Park has so much to offer.  There are tails to bike, trails to hike, sandy beaches, pristine lakes, majestic Mount Cadillac, Thunder Hole, and more.  It really is one of the most amazing treasures in Maine.

That being said, it is not free to enjoy.  There is a fee to get in and, in some cases, that has kept some families from being able to enjoy the wonders of the park.

How Much Does It Cost To Visit Acadia National Park?

According to the National Park Service website, the cost for visiting is between $20 and $35.  It costs $20 per person (over the age of 15).  That assumes you are on foot.  If you are bringing a vehicle in, it will cost you $35.  Keep in mind that allows all of the passengers in the vehicle entrance.

Remember, these fees are for seven days of access to the park.

When Can I Get Into Acadia National Park For Free?

If you want a chance to enjoy the park without having to pay a fee, we have some great news.

According to WGME, this Saturday (September 23rd) is National Public Lands Day.  That means that you will be able to get into Acadia National Park, and hundreds of other parks, without having to a pay a penny.

Of course, they'd probably gladly accept a donation, if you wanted to do that.

Veterans Day

You will also be able to visit Acadia National Park, and other national parks, for free on November 11th.  This is in honor of Veterans Day.  However, you don't need to have served in the military in order to get in for free.
