Why You Have Been Having Issues With Your iPhone This Morning

If you have been having problems with some of the apps on your iPhone this morning, you are not alone.

According to The Verge, many iPhone users are encountering crashes with certain apps including Tinder, Spotify, the Nintendo app, and Pinterest.

It looks like Facebook may be to blame for your hardships. While it has not been confirmed yet, it looks as though the problem is due to Facebook's SDK, which many apps use to manage login credentials (usernames and passwords).

It does appear that these issues are only occurring with the iPhone - not on Android devices.

Basically, when you choose to login to an app (or website) with your Facebook account, you are using the SDK, also-known-as the Facebook software development kit.

It is important to note that these apps will probably work "offline". Clearly, this won't help you with Tinder, but if you happen to have a lot of Spotify music downloaded to your phone, you can still play your music. Just put your phone in airplane mode.

Apparently, Facebook has acknowledged the issue on their developer's forum this morning. This is not the first time in recent history that the Facebook SDK has prevented people from using many apps. A similar issue, which lasted nearly an entire day, happened on May 6th, 2020.
