Wind Gusts Are Forecasted to Top 50 MPH, Track Outages Here

At the time of writing this post (5:30 AM) , CMP is only reporting about 320 customers without power across the state of Maine. However, with daytime wind gusts expected to surpass 45-50 mph for some of us, we expect that number will change, and potentially drastically.

Versant Power, formerly Emera Maine, is currently reporting about 72 customers without power, however, just like with CMP, we are expecting that number to climb throughout the day as the wind gusts increase. Click here to see a town by town breakdown of customer outages with Versant Power.

As always, we remind our listeners and readers that if you come across a downed line, whether on your property or roadway, never ever touch the line yourself. Contact the proper authorities and power company immediately. Tampering with down power lines could result in serious injury or even death if the lines are live.

The wind advisory is in effect from now until noontime today. Rain showers will linger through much of the afternoon and could be heavy at times. It will feel rather sticky today as the humidity hangs around 90% as temps climb to the mid 60s for most of us. Temps drop to about 50 under clear skies for tonight and we head into Thursday under sunny skies and highs around 70.
