Belfast Police Say a Man Was Stabbed, 2 Suspects Sought
Belfast Police are investigating after a stabbing victim told them he had also been robbed.
Police were called to Waldo County General Hospital just before 9:30 Monday morning after a man showed up in the emergency room with stab wounds. He told the officers that he had been robbed and then stabbed multiple times. The suspects, he said then ran away from the scene. Belfast Police Chief Robert Cormier says the victim was eventually able to make his way out to a parking lot and call for help.
He was taken to Maine Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. The victim's name has not been released.
Officials believe the incident happened near a homeless encampment on a wooded trail west of Route 1 and south of the CMP Powerlines.
Do Police Have a Description of the Suspects?
The victim described one of the suspects as a white male in his 20's, about 5'5" tall ,with a stocky build, and long brown hair. The other, he said, is a female in her early 20's, who has a thin build, fair skin, and reddish colored hair.
