Camp Out Hunger 2022: Here’s Everything You Need to Know!
Can you believe it's already time for our annual Camp Out Hunger food drive? Yeah, we can't either!
Running Tuesday, November 1st, through Saturday, November 5th, Camp Out Hunger will once again be taking over the parking lot at Sam's Club at the Marketplace @ Augusta. This event is to benefit the Capital Region Salvation Army's food program that serves thousands of families in the greater Kennebec County Area.
Our goal over the five days is to completely fill two 26' U-Haul trucks from our friends at U-Haul of Waterville. Matt & Lizzy will be living in campers in the parking lot around the clock Tuesday-Saturday awaiting your non-perishable food and/or monetary donations.
Additionally, we are going to be throwing a pizza party on Friday evening, November 4th. Cappza's Pizza will be loading us up with fresh, piping hot pizzas on Friday from 4-7p. Anyone who makes a donation of any kind to Camp Out Hunger can grab a slice of pizza and soda for free!
We are able to take non-perishable food donations and/or donations of cash, check (made out to Capital Region Salvation Army) as well as credit/debit cards. For anyone who would like to donate to the bottle drive portion of this fundraiser, we'd ask you to bring your returnables to Raider Redemption in Winslow. And, when you specify that your donation is for Camp Out Hunger, they'll be offering .06 center per can!
And remember, your donation is tax deductible as the CRSA is a 501 (C) (3)
