See Renee’s Special Gift from Spectrum Generations
Since April of 2020, I have been a volunteer at the Spectrum Generations Cohen Center in Hallowell. It is one of the centers that makes, packages and distributes Meals on Wheels in the Augusta area. (Hey...if you want to volunteer I know they are in need of drivers to deliver Meals On Wheels!)
My role is to work as part of a team, and as the plates are prepared, I put the tray in the lidder… a machine that seals the film on the top so the tray can go into the freezer.
While being thanked for volunteering is excellent and I appreciate it…it is not necessary. I think I have received as much as I have given. For the first few months of the pandemic, my time in the kitchen at the Cohen Center packing meals for Meals On Wheels was my lifeline…it was my social circle since I was working at home and living alone.
BUT I DO like thank you swag…check out the cool stuff in my thank you box! Thank you to the businesses that donated. I am loving that new coffee cup.
