In a story that is currently making waves through Lewiston, Maine, we find ourselves rooting for one particular restaurant that was under fire online by a patron.

This unruly customer who left Chick-a-Dee also left a bitter taste both in person and online berating the restaurant for the wait and the food. He specifically went after the chef as well.

Saying in part, “You obviously don’t know what you’re doing (explicative) I hope I don’t see you on the street!”

The man was allegedly frustrated by a longer wait time at the restaurant. The Chick-a-dee reported online that he left without paying and caused a commotion at the host stand.

Then, to make matters worse, he took to social media to vent his feelings and frustration, leaving a nasty comment on Chick-A-Dee's page.

Instead of handling the situation quietly and hiding or deleting the comment, the Chick-A-Dee decided to respond with a fiery clapback that left people talking and applauding.

Here’s what the Chick-A-Dee posted in response on Facebook:

"While it’s understandable to be frustrated with a long wait, leaving without paying and causing a scene at our host stand is simply unacceptable. Your threats online have taken it even further.
Wishing harm upon someone? That’s not just harsh; it reveals a lot about your character.
Honestly, if I were in your shoes, I wouldn’t want to face me either. You should reflect on your actions. We don’t need keyboard bullies like you to support my business. Perhaps you should try frying your own haddock at home instead."
Located at 1472 Lisbon Street in Lewiston, Chick-A-Dee has been serving delicious seafood for years, earning the loyalty of its community.
After the response, many commenters rallied behind them, with some even saying they want to eat there every day for a month.

It's not often you see businesses responding to online hate or threats, let alone clapping back at bullies, but this one did, and it struck a chord with people.

What do you think? Did Chick-A-Dee handle the situation appropriately in today’s digital age?
