Lewiston, Maine’s Beloved Fall Pumpkin Festival is Back and Better Than Ever
My fellow Mainers, come and celebrate the 54th Annual Pumpkin Festival at Farwell Elementary School! I know, right!
It has now been over 50 years that they have been throwing this fun-filled seasonal event in Lewiston, Maine and the residents can't get enough.
I was bred in Lewiston and attended this fair almost every year since I was a little girl. Each year it gets better and holds a special place in all our hearts.
I had the chance to speak with President of the Farwell PTA and kindergarten teacher at Connors School, Amanda Deflumere, who also shares a deep connection to this event. She told me that this festival played a significant role in her childhood, and now her own children get to enjoy the magic of this fall celebration. How beautiful is that?
The Farewell Pumpkin Festival is on Sunday, October 6th, 2024, from 9 AM to 3 PM, at Farwell Elementary School.
This year’s event promises fun for all ages with a so many different activities. For the kids, punch cards will be available for sale so they can enjoy games and earn tickets toward prizes at our prize table.
There will even be an obstacle course, bouncy house, and a pumpkin patch with pumpkins for sale!
It's a true fall festival for all.
As per Amanda, in attendance will be special guests from the Lewiston Police Department and Fire Department, and from 11 AM to 1 PM, the Kora Shriners Mini Racers will be doing demonstrations. And the kiddos will even have the chance to sit in the cars and take photos.
Plus, look out for Clifford the Big Red Dog, the Bobcat mascot, and characters like Yogi Bear and a Minion, thanks to the Funsters from Kora Shriners. Foodies will enjoy a variety of food trucks, including Alabama BBQ, Cruzin’ Slice Pizza, and the Kona Ice Truck.
Be sure to check out the raffle baskets, try your luck with a 50/50, and visit our bake sale for some sweet treats.
This festival just such a great opportunity to bring the community together, and the event planners are incredibly grateful for the support of the sponsors and the generations of families who have made this event possible.
See you at the festival!
