We posed the question on Facebook today, "What about you makes people think you’re weird? Something you do, say, eat, watch?"

We received many quirky and weird responses which I relished thoroughly. The world is full of weirdos that make this place better and I am a proud member of Team Weird. Mostly, because I love the smell of cow manure amongst other things, so there's that.

I noticed that a listener posted a photo on the thread and it lured me in, instantly. Her name is Crystal Marie Fae and she is an artist. Never attending art school or taking professional courses in "art-ing" does not mean she is not an artist. It also hasn't stopped her from producing the most interesting pieces that I have witnessed in a long time.

Below is the art piece that drew me in to reach out to her.

This piece is called, "Wooded Lady," and says so much at once. Crystal does have an art page on Facebook called, Starving Fairy Studio, and this creation makes me think of an enchanted forest in Fillory, where Bilbo Baggins is my neighbor, and all around us magical opium is in the air. Then everyone starts to dance and we all find the meaning of our lives all at once. That's my interpretation, but who knows?

Crystal also paints in acrylics and does unplanned and inspiration-driven projects like the one above. Crystal has done a number of both normal and fantasy-style portraits over the years and can turn you into any character you would like.

When impulse-inspiration calls, Crystal answers. The most interesting art piece to me is when Crystal makes art out of roadkill. She has a little bone pixie that she made out of sculpey and raccoon bones. I would like to make it clear that she did not kill any animals in the making of her art. She would simply take a shovel at 7:00 in the morning and quickly, "grab it off the ground, that's all.

Crystal sees the beauty in things that others may see as hideous or bizarre. We need more Crystals turning repugnant-type objects like roadkill, into enchanting relics and masterpieces.

Here is a photo gallery of some of her magical and mysterious art!
