This Wednesday, I went to Mainely Brews in Downtown Waterville to enjoy my friend Ashley and Rob Burnell sing for open mic night but while I was there, something truly awesome happened.

Many times when we're out and about, we meet all sorts of enticing people but I wasn't expecting to meet this particular woman in this fashion.

We were having a grand old time listening to the talented performers and having a couple drinkie-doodle-do's but eventually, I had to use the restroom.

As I walked into the bathroom, waiting for the stall to open up, a lady walked in. I was looking down at the time and noticed something totally rad, her feet. Her shoe's specifically, and I had to ask about them. They were painted, but in a breathtaking way.

Her name is Amy Adley from Sidney and she is an epic artist that needs to be highlighted! We have so many creative Mainers and I love when I randomly come across one!

See for yourself, below!

So of course, me being nosey, I asked her all about them and she told me that she painted them herself! These mini-murals that she creates on her shoe's inspired me to ask her to show me more.

Let me tell you a little bit about Amy. She has been painting since she was a child and she loves to add color and personality into her life.

She told me,

I've painted pictures for years-- I do dog portraits and wall murals as well as shoes. The shoes started with a pair for my son's birthday 2 or 3 years ago. He is an artist as well, so I really enjoyed creating these to reflect his artsy personality. I think painted shoes are a great way show off a little part of yourself.

She went on to tell me that painting is so fun for her and she loves to create anything she wants. Amy does this because she loves to make people happy and doesn't need any other reason to do it.
