New Hampshire Man Arrested For Allegedly Driving 100+ MPH in Maine

According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety, a New Hampshire man is facing some serious charges after he was arrested for driving recklessly through Maine.

It started with one alarming 911 call. Then another. And another.

On Saturday afternoon, the Bangor Regional Communications Center began receiving reports of a vehicle allegedly traveling more than 100 miles per hour and driving erratically northbound on I-295 in the Bowdoinham area.

By the time it was over, over a dozen people had called 911 to report the same dangerous driver.

Maine State Police troopers began piecing together the vehicle’s location as callers provided updated mile markers. Eventually, troopers spotted the vehicle traveling northbound on I-95 in Waterville.

After observing the reported driving behavior, troopers pulled the vehicle over and conducted a roadside investigation.

The driver was identified as 22-year-old Alexandre Forsythe of Jaffrey, New Hampshire.

Forsythe was subsequently charged with Criminal OUI and Criminal Speed.

Fourteen separate 911 calls helped put police on the trail of the vehicle, turning what could have been a very dangerous trip up I-95 into a traffic stop instead.
